  <description>
    <type>physical description</type>
    <value>Carved and painted wooden figure, seated, with shaped protrusion representing legs and feet. Both arms missing, and obvious damage to these areas. 'Gouge' in the rear of the base, at the bottom. Loss of white pigment at the base of the object. Filled dowel hole on base. Preparatory layer for painting applied heavily, has left a lump of excess material at the point where the torso and protrusion meet. Pigment remains in good condition, with much visible and identifiable (including the wig and both eyes), paint has flaked away in parts however.</value>
