IDENTIFIERS ----------- id: 51118 accession number: E.80.1910 DATE AUDIT ---------- created: Tuesday 31 July 2012 updated: Tuesday 31 July 2012 DESCRIPTIVE DATA ---------------- object type: Sandstone statue of a female figure. the head is now missing. the figure stands and wears a long dress, which is tied below the waist and exposes her breasts. This suggests that the image represents a fertility goddess, perhaps Isis. Only the left breast survives; the stone is damaged on the right side. The feet are carved in a simple fashion and the base is uneven and stands with the weight towards the back. It seems likely that this statue served as a cult statue in a Nubian temple or chapel. Its exact findspot is unknown. There are traces of red paint on the arms and visible breast. object type: Sandstone statue of a standing female figure wearing long garment, head missing. title: figure LICENSING --------- text license status: CC0 image license status: CC-BY-NC-SA OWNERSHIP --------- instutition: The Fitzwilliam Museum department: Antiquities STABLE URL ---------- url: https://data.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk/id/object/51118 TECHNIQUES ---------- carved CATEGORIES ------ category: statue DATING ------ creation date: 100 - 400 creation date earliest: 100 creation date latest: 400 culture: X-Group-Roman DIMENSIONS ---------- dimension: Height units: m value: 0.4 IMAGES surrogate: large format: jpeg location: https://data.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk/imagestore/ant/ant32/E_80_1910.jpg height: 760 pixels width: 492 pixels surrogate: mid format: jpeg location: https://data.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk/imagestore/ant/ant32/E_80_1910.jpg height: 760 pixels width: 492 pixels surrogate: original format: jpeg location: https://data.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk/imagestore/ant/ant32/E_80_1910.jpg height: 760 pixels width: 492 pixels surrogate: preview format: jpeg location: https://data.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk/imagestore/ant/ant32/preview_E_80_1910.jpg height: 386 pixels width: 250 pixels
