object type: Glazed steatite scarab, inscribed on the back with a cartouche containing the name Menkheperre; the name is protected by two cobras wearing sun disks. The name replaces the usual wings of a scarab, however, the head remains the same. On the base a hawk with open wings protects the same name. Although the name is new kingdom in date- a reference to Tuthmosis III, scarabs of this type are believed to be archaising and have been dated to the 25th-26th Dynasties
