DESCRIPTIVE DATA
----------------
object type: Fragment of a limestone grave relief with a Greek inscription. The inscription reads: ...since there is no human being who will live and not sin. for you alone live free from all sin and your justice is justice for ever, Lord, and your word is truth. for you are the rest and the resurrection of all Christians and to you we bring glory. His lifetime was 86 years; seated upon his throne...The owner was a Christian. Found in the cathedral cemetery at Qasr Ibrim during the Egypt Exploration Society excavations. There are remains of red-brown colour on the outside frame of the text. It has been suggested on account of the formula used that the owner was a bishop.
