    <value>Buff stoneware, thrown, decorated with impressed, carved, and applied ornament, and partially covered with matt greyish-buff glaze.  Globular body with narrow shoulder and short neck, facetted upward sloping spout, strap handle, two smaller strap handles, and flower-shaped foot the base of which is unglazed.  The circular cover has eight scallops round the edge, and a cube-shaped knob. The body is decorated round the foot with a border of impressed circles of two sizes.The edge of the shoulder is decorated with carved overlapping scales, and there are five scales below the spout, and a scale and a stud on both sides of the body.  On both sides of the shoulder there are two applied birds with a stud between them, and on the cover, four birds beak to tail, with four studs on the top within them, and four smaller ones on the corners of the knob.</value>
