Tin-glazed off-white overall. Painted in dark blue, yellow, orange, and a little green. Shape approximately 60 with convex middle. Circular with broad sloping rim and deep well. The rim has warped during firing. In the middle, St Francis prays before a Cross, framed by concentric blue circles and nine points enclosing green triangles. On the sides of the well are nine part-yellow and part-orange fruits with a curved line and short strokes above each. The rim is decorated with concentric bands of triangles, paired leaves, ladders, zigzags and circles, and scallops in blue, yellow and orange. A yellow band encircles the edge. The back is inscribed in the middle in dark blue, MI in monogram crossed by a paraph.
