  <description>
    <value>Cream earthenware, moulded, lead-glazed, and painted in royal blue, yellow, flesh-pink, red, maroon, and black enamels. The socle has a large circular hole in its underside, under the bust. It is decorated on the front with a naval trophy in relief and has maroon lines round its upper and lower edges. The sitter faces front with his head turned slightly to his left left. He wears a pale brown wig tied in a queue at the back with a black bow, a white shirt with ruffles and high collar, a white waistcoat with yellow edges, a royal blue jacket with white facings, yellow trimming, buttonholes and epaulettes.</value>
