Shape: pear-shaped bottle with narrow, neck and sitting on a low foot ring Exterior: rim is painted red, below a frieze of buff horseshoe arches. On the neck, feather like leaves outlined in red and gilded are interspersed with buff or red scrolling foliage. On the shoulder, below a black band, a frieze of trefoils and lozenges are also outlined in red with occasional gilding remaining. On the body, further feather shaped leaves alternate with medallions containing a central star and surrounded by lozenges, both outlined in red, gilded and surrounded by buff scrolling foliage. On the lower body a black band, contained within red concentric lines, is dotted in buff; below buff arched lines which radiate towards the base. Glaze runs unevenly over the lower body, in places reaching the foot ring. Interior: blue glaze continues on the visible interior surface.
