The cup has a bulbous lower part sloping inwards towards the rim, and an applied loop handle, rounded on the back. The outside is decorated with a continuous Chinese landscape or garden with rocks and stylized plants. In the middle two Chinamen are seated on either side of a large plantain with the initials P/RI over it. The date '1669' is over the figure to the right.
