Circular with a sloping rim, curved sides and flat centre, standing on a footring. The front has a manganese-purple ground with an ocatagonal reserve in the centre, and eight alternatvely hexagonal and approximately fan-shaped reserves on the rim. The octagonal reserve encloses a coastal scene with three ships at sea, fortifications and a tree in the middle distance, and shrubs on hillocks in the foreground.
