object type: Buff earthenware, the front tin-glazed and painted in blue, yellow, brownish-orange, and manganese-purple, and sponged in blue; the reverse covered with bluish lead-glaze.  Circular with everted rim, and curved sides, standing on a footring. Willaim III, wearing a crown and coronation robes, and holding an orb and centre stands on the left of Mary II, who is crowned, and holds a fan. The letters W M are painted above and to the left of their heads and R to the right of Mary's head. On each side there are sponged trees and in the foreground, three broad strokes and three areas of sponging. Round the outer edge there is a yellow band and a blue dash border.
