    <value>Earthenware, press-moulded with a relief design on the interior, and decorated with cream and dark brown slip under lead-glaze. A horseman holding a pistol in his left hand and a short sword in his right, riding towards the viewer's right.</value>
  </description>
  <description>
    <value>Buff earthenware, press-moulded over a hump mould to produce a design in relief, lightly scalloped round the edge with a serrated tool, coated on the front with creamy-white slip, slip-trailed in dark brown, and lead-glazed. The reverse is undecorated and unglazed. Circular with shallow striated scallops round the edge, and a beaded border, decorated on the front with a rider mounted on a horse walking to the viewer's right. The man wears a hat with a feather at the back, thigh boots, and a long coat, and holds a pistol in his left hand and a short sword in his right. In the background behind him is a flower head made up of seven circles, and another is below the horse. Three similar circles are between the horse's front legs, and one circle between its hind legs. Another brown circle with a relief border, perhaps a flower, is situated to the right of the rider's head. A small suspension hole above the man's hat was bored through the plate before glazing.</value>
