The mug has a circular base which is slightly concave underneath. It has a bulbous body, a sloping cylindrical neck with a cordon round the shoulder, and a broad strap handle with a vertical depression. The sides are decorated with a scrolling stem bearing wild roses and partly striated leaves, and on the neck there are three similar reliefs of a bearded man wearing a low-brimmed hat in profile to right.
