The jug has a bulbous body with a tall cylindrical neck pinched at the front to form a lip, and a loop handle with a central longitudinal ridge, and a pointed extension below its lower junction with the body. On the front is an incised plant with thirteen pairs of lance-shaped leaves, and one more on the right of the stem, alternately coloured in blue and manganese-purple, and perhaps intended to represent a palm frond or fern. This is flanked by vertical foliated scrolls with small areas coloured manganese-purple, reserved in a blue ground.
