object type: Grey stoneware, moulded, painted in cobalt-blue and manganese-purple, and salt-glazed. The Virgin stands on a small irregular hexagonal base with straight slightly sloping sides. She is crowned and wears a manganese-purple dress, a blue over dress, and blue shoes. Nine holes are pierced into the skirts of her garments. She holds the Christ Child in her left arm, supporting him with her right hand. He wears a small rounded crown, and long manganese-purple dress, and holds a blue orb in his left hand. The orb has a hole at the top, presumably to hold a Cross, now missing. The Virgin's crown is also pierced , and the front of the base.
