    <value>brown salt-glazed stoneware decorated with reliefs of the Twelve Apostles, and horizontal border patterns</value>
  </description>
  <description>
    <value>Brown stoneware, thrown, with applied relief decoration, iron-brown wash, and salt glaze, painted in blue, green, yellow, red, flesh, white and black enamels. Cylindrical with a spreading base, incurved shoulders, and strap handle to which is attached a hinged pewter mount for the domed cover and its large ball thumb piece. The decoration on the sides is divided into four zones. On the widest in the midddle there is an oval medallion with a white merchant's mark 41 HB monogram on a blue ground, and on either side six of the Apostles with their emblems standing on greensward. Above is a white band with their names written in black Gothic script: from left to right, 'S. Petrus S. Andre: S. Jacob mai: S. Joh.. S. Phillippus. S. Bartholomeus. S. Thomas. S. Mattheus. S. Jacob minor. S. Simon: S. Judas tha: S. Matthi:'. Above between two blue horizontal bands is a band of blue and white interlacing ribbons with alternately red and yellow spots in the spaces. This is repeated below the Apostles with yellow spots in all the spaces. The spreading foot is encircled by a wavy white stem bearing yellow, red, and blue stylized fruits, against a green background. The back of the handle has an applied lion's mask with foliage issuing from is mouth and extending down to the junction with the body. The top of the pewter cover is engraved with three concentric circles in the middle, the initials 'I.G.W', and two concentric circles round the outer edge</value>
