The reverse is undecorated, but appears to have been given a thin wash of dark brown slip around the sides and rim. The dish is circular with a broad sloping and warped rim, deep curved sides and flat centre. In the middle are a standing man and woman, each holding a flower, with a stylized leaf on each side of them, and two leaves and a bud below the man. The rim is decorated with trellis pattern in two shades of brown, broken at the top by a panel slip trailed with their names, THoMAS; :SARAϽT(both Ss back to front).
