She studied at the Royal College of Art before being sent by to work at the Leach pottery from 1925, with a letter sent from the Royal College stating, ‘I am sending you a genius.’ Her output of works was small, not least because her perfectionism drove her to destroy much of her work. She later worked with Pleydell-Bouverie at her pottery in Coleshill for eight years (1928-36) before turning to teaching and giving up making completely in the 1950s.
