object type: Earthenware, thickly tin-glazed off-white on the exterior, including the base, and inside the mouth. Painted in pale blue, yellow, orange, brown, and manganese-purple.
Bulbous ovoid body with flat base, short very slender neck, small cup-shaped mouth, and broad loop handle.
On the front is a half-length figure of a man with a moustache and long wavy hair. He wears a tall cap trimmed with fur, a cravat, and a cloak over a coat. Above his head, within a rectangular label outlined in blue, is the date `1725' in manganese with a manganese line beneath.

value: Probably purchased in Dresden in 1896, by Dr J.W.L. Glaisher * dated 2 March 1911, `This bottle was bought in 1896 (I believe) in Dresden. the man at the shop where I bought it said it was Polish. The portrait probably represents some patriot or statesman.'(MS 1662).
