Nevers, an important centre for the manufacture of faïence since the late sixteenth century, was a major producer. On this plate 'Vive la liberté (Long live Liberty) is accompanied by the emblem of the people: a crozier, a sword, and a spade, symbolising the three estates united in the defence of liberty, represented by the open birdcage. In September 1791 the King agreed to a new Constitution drafted by the National Assembly.referenceterm-106779adlib-term-106779f0706fcd-d94c-3987-bcb5-f7f794332b6a18th Century, Latereferenceterm-14265adlib-term-14265b9f6d73e-26ce-3588-a519-976c2cc93f7fLouis XVIreferenceterm-109937adlib-term-109937ef055b4b-72c2-3626-a8f1-c008a7d8a36cliteralFranceFrancecountryNeversreferenceterm-39575adlib-term-39575cdf6707a-1eeb-3622-a26b-6e54f1f8d4abtin-glazereferenceterm-42861adlib-term-428615b368285-f1a8-3dcf-a5b2-637fd3c3956cearthenwareDiameter At Rimcm34referencemedia-39809adlib-media-398097293ea5a-8f6a-30f7-be0a-a74714503578jpegaa/aa11/C_2328_1928.jpg1heightpixels740widthpixels57016162605339651imagejpegaa/aa11/mid_C_2328_1928.jpg1heightpixels649widthpixels50016162605339651imagejpegaa/aa11/C_2328_1928.jpg1heightpixels740widthpixels57016162605339651imagejpegaa/aa11/preview_C_2328_1928.jpg1heightpixels325widthpixels25016162605339651image0media
