  <description>
    <value>Earthenware, press-moulded, tin-glazed on the visible surfaces, and painted in blue, yellow, orange, brown, and manganese-purple. The Virgin stands holding the Christ Child in her left arm. She wears a crown over a veil which extends to the ground at the back over her full-length gown. Most of the group is left white with the features painted naturalistically, and the outlines of the costume lightly delineated in the various colours. The eight-sided base is unglazed and concave underneath with a circular ventilation hold in the middle.</value>
