object type: Pale buff earthenware, tin-glazed, and painted in blue, green, yellow, dark rose pink, purple and black enamels. Oval with slightly pointed ends, a depression for salt in the top, and spreading sides; open underneath. A yellow line runs round the outer edge at the top, and there are four spaced green sprigs on its border. On the sides there are two different small floral arrangements, each including a dark pink rose, and at either end a small floral sprig.
