object type: Tin-glazed earthenware painted in blue. The vase stands on a high rectangular socle with a narrow cushion in the stem. The body is oval with a flat back with five nozzles projecting from the top. The front, has a projecting arch at the top on which are four smaller nozzles. On each side there is an open-mouthed monster's head, with wings extending partly across the body on both sides.        The front and back of the body are decorated with two winged putti amongst scattered roses and other smaller flowers and foliage. The spouts are decorated with vertical and horizontal scroll motifs. Between them at the back there are pyramidal motifs formed by lines, and at the front scroll motifs. The socle is decorated with two long panels containing  roses, other flowers and foliage reserved in a blue ground, and two short panels containing a large acanthus leaf reserved in a blue ground. The edge has a narrow repeating border of stylized buds between leaves.
