The oval dish has a slightly convex base, convex sides with a wavy stem of tendrils, flowers and buds in relief, and a shaped upper edge with three scallops and a small v-shape repeated round it, within which is a ledge on which the cover rests. The domed oval cover has a knob or handle in the form of a seated cock which is hollow underneath. The sides of the dish are yellowish-green, the stem and tendrils are painted in blue, the flowers in yellow and red, and the buds in red.
