object type: Buff earthenware, moulded, tin-glazed, and painted in blue, green, yellow, red, a little manganese-purple, and black. The sage is supported on an octagonal base which rises up in the middle into a smaller octagon, and is concave underneath. He stands, with his head slightly lowered, and his left hand touching his breast. He is bearded and wears a manganese-black hat, black shoes, a long yellow floral-patterned robe, a blue bodice with red floral pattern, and a yellow and green coat with voluminous sleeves. A small flower-shaped manganese-purple purse or ornament  is situated below his yellow belt. The back of his clothing is undecorated.The lowest part of the base had black sides and a yellow top, and the smaller, taller part is green with blue veining.
