The dish is circular with deep curved sides and a crinkled edge, produced by making adjacent impressions with an oval ended implement. The interior has a pair of slightly raised bands running round it about 2.5 cm below the outer edge, and in the middle scarcely visible under the slip coating, the initials and date 'SM/1727'.
