The base is smooth and unglazed. Of baluster form with vertical fluting stopping at the rounded shoulder which is pierced by lozenge-shaped holes forming panels of openwork studded with small yellow-centred bluish-green flower heads. The short neck is pierced by eight holes with eight raised spots between them. At each side there is a female mask surrounded by applied flowers. The lower part is encircled by a frill of green, puce, and yellow shells, projecting shells, and yellow flower heads. The body is decorated with four applied sprays off lowers and painted in the spaces with butterflies and insects. The fluted, flared foot is decorated with scattered bluish-green flower head. The high, domed cover has four perforated areas, each of four lozenge-shaped holes, and is surmounted by applied flowers, and a bird with outstretched wings. Gilding is restricted to a band round the edge of the cover, and eight raised spots on the neck.
