    <value>Buff earthenware, thrown, the reverse slip-coated and lead-glazed, the front tin-glazed and painted in yellow and manganese-purple. The bowl  is circular with deep curved sides and everted rim, standing on a wide, shallow footring. Inside there is a three-quarter length figure of a woman holding a trumpet in her right hand representing the sense of hearing. She wears two feathers on top of her head and a dress with a decollet&#xE9; neckline, a cross-hatched stomacher,, and a wide, striped skirt. Round the rim there are three narrow manganese concentric circles.</value>
