object type: Hard-paste porcelain the upper surface covered in a grey-green slip, and decorated in  pâte-sur-pâte in white. On a plinth decorated with a tragic mask and trumpets are seated back to back,on the viewer's right, a man writing on a table, representing Drama, and on the viewer's left, a woman holding a lyre, representing Music, with on either side groups of lightly draped children. The four on the left are singing, while one of them holds a book, and of the three on the right, one holds up a mask, and two hold up a mask between them. The panel has a gilt-metal frame with two suspension rings attached to loops on the top edge.
