object type: Soft-paste porcelain, moulded, and glazed; the unglazed underside is recessed, and has a large circular ventilation hole under the figure. The rectangular base has rococo scrolls around the edge and a tree stump at the back. The shepherdess sits on the stu p with her right leg crossed over her left, her right hand held up to the side, and her left rests on the edge of a basket of flowers on her left thigh. She wears a broad-brimmed hat with a bow on its right side, a high-necked chemise, a dress with a short sack back and an open skirt which reveals her petticoat at the front.  A small lamb lies on top of the base on her left.
