object type: Buff earthenware, thrown, with slip-trailed decoration in dark reddish-brown under yellowish lead-glaze. The jug has an oviform body, a wide cylindrical neck with a projecting lip, and a reeded loop handle.  Round the shoulder below a trailed zigzag band are the words 'POLESWORTH POTTERY'. Below are the initials and date 'R.G.1801' in a panel.
