The cartouches contain, alternately, black cursive script on a hatched ground, or black dots and lines flanked by borders of turquoise or blue. In the spandrels around the arches on the rim, black scrolling vegetation is coloured with blue or turquoise. Three trivet marks in the base indicate use of tripod stacking devices during firing. Exterior: the rim is painted black. On the body vertical lines radiate between concentric bands, all in black.
