The candlestick is in the form of a gnarled tree-trunk growing on the left side of a high rocky base with a wavy edge, partly covered with moss, and hollow underneath. The trunk and its short branches are ornamented with small moulded flowers and serrated trefoil leaves. The candle-socket is formed by large overlapping leaves, and next to it, perching on a short branch is a bird resembling a pigeon.
