The candlestick is in the form of a gnarled tree-stump with four branches and at the top, a candle socket formed by overlapping leaves. Separately moulded flowers and leaves are applied to it, and six small birds perch at intervals on the branches and trunk. The trunk rises from a flat base on which is a crouching stag, and applied leaves and flowers.
