DESCRIPTIVE DATA

object type: Off-white stoneware, slip-cast, and salt-glazed.  The teapot stands on an octagonal base. The body is of rounded square shape with sloping sides, a stepped shoulder, and square neck. It has a faceted curved spout, and a roll handle with a kick at the lower end. The square slightly domed cover has a flange which fits inside the neck of the pot, and a knob in the shape of a crouching rabbit or hare.  The lower part of the body of the pot is gadrooned. Above that, it is divided into four sections, each decorated with a wide band of plant motifs in relief with a man's bewigged head at each corner. The top of the cover is divided into four sections each decorated with tulips and other plants in relief. The  rabbit knob is placed so that its head is facing in the direction of the spout, and in front of it is a ventilation hole
