object type: White stoneware, slip-cast with integral relief decoration, applied moulded spout, and rolled handle, salt-glazed, and painted in blue, green, yellow, dark pink, and grey enamels. The pot has a four-lobed pear-shaped body, with a curved spout and loop handle with a kick at the lower end. The domed four-lobed cover has a conical knob. In the middle lobe on each side of the pot there are overlapping shells of decreasing size, one of which has a reclining man at the top. These are flanked by sprays of pink flowers, oak foliage with yellow acorns, and at the top by two small shells, above which is a band of grey Greek key motifs. The spout is has an oak spray on each side, The cover is decorated with four shells in relief with painted pink and yellow half-flowers and foliage between them, and has a blue border broken by four green rectangular motifs enclosing diamond shapes, two small pink flowers, and two larger yellow and pink half-flowers.
