Shape: bulbous, globular body with an embossed neck and cock head spout with a frilled rim. The handle, imitating bird feathers, is ribbed and adorned with protruding scrolls; it is attached to the spout and upper body. Exterior: the surface is covered into four friezes that are divided by bands of epigraphy, reserved in black. Below a blue rim the upper surface is painted with a cock’s head surrounded by palmettes reserved in black, this accentuates the moulded decoration. On the neck further palmettes are reserved in black but here they are interspersed with tear drop cartouche containing trefoils painted in black and reserved in blue. Occupying most of the body, and reserved and outlined in black with splashes of blue, figures with moon faces are surrounded by dotted trefoils and scrolling vegetation. On the lower body a scrolling water weed pattern is painted in black.
