object type: White earthenware, lead-glazed, transfer-printed onglaze in black, and painted in yellow enamel. Cylindrical with an ear-shaped handle. Decorated on the exterior with a continuous rural scene with on the left, a well-dressed shepherd sitting beside a tree near five sheep, and on the right, a couple seated at a tea table accompanied by a dog, and with a servant standing to the left. Round the rim there is a narrow border of white circles reserved ina black band. Inside there is a similar border with a wider floral border below. The rim is banded in yellow. Down the outside of the handle there is a spray of black paired leavs.
