object type: dark cream press-moulded earthenware body with applied pale brown eyes and mouse, decorated under lead-glaze with dark brown eyebrows and outlines round the ears, and mottled in dark green on the back of the head and the whole body below the neck. The underside is open and is glazed for a short distance up the interior. The cat is sitting up with its head turned towards the viewer, and holds a mouse in its mouth.
