The decoration, the shape of the man\u2019s face and the use of grey\/blue \u2018parsley\u2019 shards of clay around the goat suggest that the group may have been made by the Dudson factory, at Hanley, although Dudson figures more typically have a plain base decorated with a gilt line. Dudson was founded in 1800 and at this time operated in Hope Street, Hanley, making a wide range of product.
