The figures stand on a low mound supported on a square, straight-sided and flat-topped base, which is hollow underneath and has a central ventilation hole. Jupiter stands facing the viewer with his bare feet slightly apart. He holds up his garment to his hip in his left hand, and in his right holds a reddish-brown sceptre which rests against his body and upper arm. He has a grey beard and hair, red lips and flesh-pink cheeks. He wears a yellow crown, and a low-necked, short-sleeved tunic of dark puce fabric decorated with small white reserves enclosing red and blue sprigs, and lined with yellow. It extends to just above his knees at the front, and to the ground at the back. The eagle stands to his right looking towards him, with its right foot raised and wings extended. The mound is coloured green and greyish-brown.
