The underside of the square base is concave, closed, and glazed, and has a small ventilation hole off centre. The figure stands on a low round mound with a tree stump at the back, coloured like the base in green with random streaks of brown. Bacchus stands with his weight on his right leg and has his left slightly bent at the knee and crossed over in front of his right. He has his head turned to his left, and rests his left hand on the top of the tree stump. With his right hand he holds up a small yellow cup in front of his chest.
