object type: Buff earthenware, thrown with applied handles, tin-glazed except for the base, and painted in blue. The flask has a disk base, a bulbous body with  horizontal loop handles on the shoulder to take a carrying cord, and a tall narrow cylindrical neck with a projecting rim.  One side of the body, painted in greyish-blue, is the word 'BOY'. On either side in blue are two small strokes, and above and below, a rough asterisk crossed by a long stroke.
