The figure stands on a shallow square base which is hollow underneath, and is painted on top in green and manganese--brown to resemble stones and plants. Ceres stands on her left foot with her right knee relaxed so that the foot is a little behind the other. She looks downwards slightly, and holds a sheaf of corn upright in both hands, so that it rests against her right shoulder. She has brown hair, and wears a yellow stephane headdress made of ears of corn, a long dress with diagonal pink, blue and white stripes, cattered with dark puce flowers and leaves. A pale turquoise cloak is wrapped around her body and falls down to the ground at the back. Its upper end is draped over her right shoulder.
