The jug has a bulbous lower part, a wide neck which expands a little towards the mouth, and a strap handle. The disk base has a narrow pewter mount round its outer edge. The reeded area is decorated with three plant motifs, comprising two leaves with a wavy stem of buds between them. Below is a border formed by a continuous wavy stem with pairs of simplified leaves between horizontal bands. Above the reeding is a horizontal blue band which forms the ground line for three male figures in 18th century costume, painted in blue reserved in a powdered manganese-purple ground. The central figure is larger than the others, and carries a stick in his left hand. The man to his right, wears a hat with a pointed crown, and has his arms raised as if dancng. Above is a blue border formed by six trefoil arches. The handle is powdered with manganese.
