The body of the ewer is helmet-shaped with an upward tilting lip, and rests on an anulet above a wide, domed base with a wavy edge. The loop handle has a leaf shape in relief on its top. The foot is decorated with one floral spray and three sprigs of leaves, and there is a horizontal band round the anulet. Both sides of the jug are decorated with a floral spray, and on the front below the lip there is a small Oriental style garden feature, comprising a fence, rocks and bamboo flanked by flowering plants. A criss-cross border runs round the upper part below the edge. The back of the handle has a leaf at the top, and bud-like motifs of decreasing size eventually appearing as short dashes. On both sides of the handle there are two long lines alternating with groups of very short strokes and spots.
