The foot, neck, and top of the loop handle have silver-gilt mounts, and the thumbpiece and cover are also silver-gilt. The flat foot ring is cast and has a decorative border. Above this is a border of dentil moulding. Cut stylised leaves hold the pottery foot in place. The neck mount is chased with an ornate pattern of strapwork. The slightly domed cover is embossed and chased with three masks and fawns between bunches of fruit on a matted ground. The finial is a cast model of St. George and the Dragon, and stands on a gadrooned knop.
