object type: Pale buff earthenware, moulded, tin-glazed and painted in pale blue, blue, pale and dark green, yellow, dark puce, and dark brown enamels. The oval, silver-shaped dish has a with a wavy edge, a deep sloping rim with eight panels. and a deep well with curved sides and flat base. On the underside there are three spur marks. The well is painted with a vignette of a man fishing in a landscape with a four rocks and plants beside a stream. He is wearing pale blue breeches, and a puce hat, jacket and boots, and holds net on a pole over the stream. The panels on the right and left ends of the sloping rim are painted with  a single stylized flower on a twig with leaves, and the two on the long sides with two stylized flowers on twigs with leaves. The other four panels each have a much smaller leaf sprig. A dark brown line runs round the shaped edge.
