The figure is supported on a shallow straight-sided square base with a low treestump at the back. The underside has a deep concave centre with a ventilation hole below the figure. Bacchus stands with his left leg forward and right relaxed behind him; his head and both arms are missing, the right from the shoulder, and the left from below the elbow.
