object type: Hard-paste porcelain saucer dish painted in enamel colours, one of a pair. With shallow, well rounded sides resting on a tapered foot. The interior is decorated in enamels of bright tones with a blue and a, smaller, brown butterfly hovering in flight above two flowering sprays. One with brown stalks and large dark pink flowers with yellow centres stippled with red, the other taller with green stems and pale yellow flowers, each with five narrow pointed petals. The foliage of both sprays in lime green and greenish turquoise.
Mark: six character mark of Yongzheng, written horizontally within double circles in underglaze blue.
